Dodson Motorsport Promax Clutch

We start with using the Dodson Motorsport Promax Clutch. This unit is complete with billet baskets, outer cage, alloy seals, and much more. This comprehensive 11 plate design for both the A and B clutch steps things up from a Sportsman solution and is the clutch we recommend for any GR6 transmission that needs to hold 1000-1300ft/lbs of torque. The Promax allows for several configurations of the clutch pack itself providing the highest level of engine torque holding capability for the GR6 while still providing the ability to be mild-mannered and streetable.

Dodson Motorsport Full Billet 1-6 Extreme Duty Gearset

The Colab Garage KS1 is complete with the addition of a full billet 1-6 extreme duty gear and shaft set from Dodson Motorsport. While the Dodson Heavy Duty gear set is quite good, when going for more than 1000ft/lbs of torque the Dodson Extreme Duty gear set is much better suited for the task. The Extreme Duty gear set can handle all but the highest horsepower drag builds (over 2500whp).

Additional Included Dodson Motorsport Upgrades

We then add quite a bit more of the Dodson Motorsport catalog to the build which gives our GR6 package the KS1 designation. Starting with the drag racing essentials of both the Dodson upgraded heavy duty rear output gears (drop gears) and Wavetrac rear limited slip differential. Also included in the KS1 is the T1 Race Development Rear Differential Brace and billet alloy diff cover to strengthen the rear casing which is essential when launching at the drag strip. From there we add the Dodson billet sump pan and anti surge plate for added strength and cavitation prevention on hard G acceleration. We then setup your FWD unit (also known as the ETS) to our specification based on your intended use using the Dodson Motorsport ball retainer solution and proprietary fluid. Every KS1 GR6 gearbox is cleaned using our ultra sonic cleaner for all components including cleaning of your oil pump and shifting valvebody assemblies to ensure proper operation prior to installation.

Optional Front Wheel Drive Upgrades

Depending on if you plan to drag race your GR6 on non-prepped surfaces we provide the option to upgrade your KS1 to support sending additional power to the front axles. If racing on a pepper track this is an optional upgrade for the power levels supported by the KS1.

Starting with the upgraded billet ETS housing and 10 plate clutch stack this allows for the ability to send more power to the front axle. Doing so also requires the included Dodson Motorsport upgraded FWD shaft and pinion gear. That is all that is required inside the GR6, but you will also need to upgrade the rest of the AWD system to support the added torque output. Upgraded front wheel driveshaft and a full billet front diff case with wavetrac differential and billet ring and pinion are required to support this upgrade.
